Together, Raiatea and Keauhou represent a new generation of Hawaiian artists – inspired by the song traditions of the past, displaying a vocal brilliance to introduce classics to new audiences, delivering passionate renditions that touch the heart.
Raiatea Helm set the Hawaiian music community on fire with the release of her debut CD in 2002 when she was just 18 years old. With her pure, clear voice she is a natural performer of leo ki`eki`e (Hawaiian falsetto), and within days of the CD release, she was being heralded as the successor to such Hawaiian music greats as Aunty Genoa Keawe. She has gone on fulfill that early promise, winning 8 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (Hawai‘i’s “Grammy”), and becoming the first female vocalist from Hawai’i to be nominated for a Grammy.

The big winners at the 2017 Na Hoku Awards, Keauhou finds passion and joy in the performance, preservation, and perpetuation of Hawaiian music traditions. Brothers Zachary Lum on guitar and Nicholas Lum on bass, and Kahanuola Solatorio on ‘ukulele, create harmonies that evoke the best of both tradition and contemporary style. Winning awards in all nine categories for which they were nominated for their debut album, their awards included the coveted Favorite Entertainer.
