George’s compilation Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 2 captured a fourth Grammy® in January 2010. His most recent solo CD Wao Akua, was nominated for a Grammy in the Regional Roots category. George also produced his 2012 collaboration with Norton Buffalo, whose untimely passing preceded release of this labor of love by both artists and friends:  Norton Buffalo--George Kahumoku Jr: From Paradise.

George and fellow slack key artists were thrilled to receive the 2006 Grammy® Award in the new category of Best Hawaiian Album for their first compilation CD Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 1: Live in Concert from Maui. In the next two years, two more Grammys® followed, and in 2009, the Spirit of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar was a Grammy® nominee. All five CDs were taped live at the prestigious Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert Series, a weekly show George launched on Maui in 2004 and now approaching its13th anniversary in 2016.
